March 14, 2020 - A letter from Susan
I hope this letter finds you all well. The Covid-19 virus is wreaking havoc on our society. Many people are afraid, some are angry. Some are out of work and fear they may not be able to cope emotionally, spiritually or financially even before any one in their family is sick.
Covid-19 virus has had a profound impact on our daily lives.
Authorities believe that this virus is extremely dangerous to those of us over 65, especially those with underlying health issues. The authorities have also suggested that large gatherings should be avoided. As a result our Bishop, Susan Bell with the other Anglican Bishops of Ontario have made the unprecedented decision to cancel all services at Anglican Churches for now.
As a result there will be no formal services at St. Elizabeth’s until the threat from this pandemic has resolved.
We will broadcast weekly readings and reflection along with prayers each Sunday.
I am extremely saddened by this, as our time together on Sunday is an important part of mine and your faith journeys.
Even though we are not meeting together on Sundays, St. Elizabeth is still alive and well. The Spirit we share is still alive. Your wardens and staff join with me in our commitment to providing spiritual and emotional support to each of you.
A reminder to each of you to check on each other. We will be monitoring the church office phone daily. If you or anyone you know is in need of spiritual or emotional help, groceries or a ride to an appointment, please call my cell at 905-741-8007 or the church office at (905) 637-6335.
Please pray unceasingly,
